Now that fall is in full swing, I started to think about gardening. I have a friend who has a big garden and who loves the nurturing that goes into tending a garden, but plants more than he will ever use. Every year he ends up with an abundance of zucchini and tomatoes; way, way more than he could eat. So, lucky for me, he shares this abundance with me and some of his other friends.

Whenever I thank him, he modestly says that sharing the vegetables gives him much more in return than what we receive in a few meals. Do you ever find that to be true yourself? That we get more in return when we give something away?

The Hi Desert Children’s Dental Clinical is a place where I find the above to be true. Providing services to those who would go without is rewarding and my gratitude for being able to serve in this way is great. Giving time to organizations like this are a way that anyone can become more involved in the community and have the opportunity to give back. I hope you have the chance to participate somewhere in the community and show gratitude. It always comes back in multiples.

As Thanksgiving comes roaring at us, it’s time to remind everyone to check their Flex Spending Accounts. Money left in those accounts at the end of the year will be lost to you forever unless it’s used. Orthodontics is a great way to utilize your hard-earned un-taxed earnings. And if you have already used this year’s FSA, you can plan for orthodontics next year when you set up your new enrollment. Just schedule your complimentary new patient exam to find out about treatment and the related finances! Our treatment coordinators are expert at helping your to maximize the benefit that these accounts provide.

Gratitude really is an attitude, right? It’s not something that we share or work on for just the month or the last Thursday of November. Gratitude is present every time we breathe. Every day we are grateful as we work to put smiles on the faces of those we meet.

We can’t put into words the joy that each and every one of you bring into our lives when you walk through our doors. Thank you so much for the privilege of serving you. It is an honor that we appreciate daily.

Warm wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving; we hope you are able to spend it in a place and with people that you love.
