A Lesson from Too Many Vegetables
Saturday November 1st, 2014

Now that fall is in full swing, I started to think about gardening. I have a friend who has a big garden and who loves the nurturing that goes into tending a garden, but plants more than he will ever use. Every year he ends up with an abundance of zucchini and tomatoes; way, way more than he could eat. So, lucky for me, he shares this abundance with me and some of his other friends.

Whenever I thank him, he modestly says that sharing the vegetables gives him much more in return than what we receive in a few meals. Do you ever find that to be true yourself? That we get more in return when we give something away?

The Hi Desert Children’s Dental Clinical is a place where I find the above to be true. Providing services to those who would go without is rewarding and my gratitude for being able to serve in this way is great. Giving time to organizations like this are a way that anyone can become more involved in the community and have the opportunity to give back. I hope you have the chance to participate somewhere in the community and show gratitude. It always comes back in multiples.
